FAQs

Question

Why does the wedding start so late?

Answer

Weddings in Greece typically start even later than 7pm and go the whole night. You'll have the whole day to rest and load up on coffee to get you ready to have fun all night! There is no pressure to stay too late, unless you want to!

Question

What should I know before coming to Greece?

Answer

1. Do not forget your passport and other needed travel documents. 2. The official monetary unit of Greece is the Euro, so you will have to exchange your currency to the Euro. You can do it at a bank, in currency exchange offices or at the airport (they give a much better rate than all other places). Make sure you have enough cash as some places/vendors like kiosks or even taxis don't always take credit cards. 3. If you are traveling to Greece from a country that uses 110 volt electrical power sources, be sure to bring the proper 220v to 110v converter (or simply an adapter, depending on what you are plugging in).

Question

How long should plan to stay in Athens?

Answer

Depending on how long you intend to take off work, we recommend you stay in Athens for around 3 days and then go to an island for a few days. The islands are all relatively close! By plane, you can get to islands like Santorini, Mykonos, Paros and more in under an hour. If you want to take a ferry you can do so at Piraeus Port. Ferry rides to most islands are about 6 hours.

Question

How do I get around Athens?

Answer

For all your transportation we recommend downloading the Beat app, as Uber doesn't operate in Greece. Otherwise, if you plan on renting a car, you can do so online or at the Athens airport once you arrive. Don't forget to get your international driver's license.

Question

Do you have any additional tips/information?

Answer

Yes! 1. People in Greece in general tend to go out at night fairly late, around 11:00pm. 2. There is no rule or norm for tipping in Greece. People do not expect you to tip anywhere. If you decide to, you can tip as much as you want or you can still leave no tip at all 3. Tax is included in the price of everything. 4. Internet connection is pretty easy in Greece. Many hotels offer internet connection and, of course, you can go to the many coffee shops available. 5. Have fun! We have endless recommendations for things to do so if you have already gone through the online list, please let us know and we will bombard you with more recommendations.
