There are a number of airports close to New Paltz that we can recommend and are within a 2 hour car ride. Smaller airports (good for arrival from domestic locations): Albany International Airport (ALB) Westchester County Airport (HPN) Large NYC Airports: Newark International Airport (EWR) LaGuardia International Airport (LGA) JFK International Airport (JFK) The easiest way to get from these airports to New Paltz is to rent a car. However if you want to take public transportation from NYC check out the options below.

There are trains and buses from NYC to New Paltz area. Bus: Take the Trailways bus from NY Port Authority station directly to New Paltz downtown Train: Take the Amtrak or MetroNorth from Grand Central terminal to Poughkeepsie NY (~25 minutes from New Paltz)
