WE’RE STILL GETTING MARRIED!

Joshua and Sophia met after a mutual friend knew they would be perfect for one another and invited them both to an ugly sweater Christmas party (thanks, Alex!). Joshua knew it was the real deal when his daughter, I mean dog, Heidi, accepted Sophia into her pack. Soon after the family added another member with their dog MJ. Though Joshua lived in Knoxville and Sophia in Nashville, they made it work for six long months until Joshua became fed up with the drive and found a job in Nashville. The four have just bought their first home in East Nashville and cannot wait to start their lives woodworking and gardening to their hearts delight!

Joshua knew from the beginning he was going to propose. Sophia had always said she wanted three things if the day was ever to come: to be proposed to in a floral setting, her family and best friends present, and a little sparkle! Joshua, being the romantic he is, came up with a plan quickly and months in advance. The plan was this: Sophia and Joshua’s friend, a photographer, was to ask them to do a couples shoot as a favor for a project. After a few shots, Heather would tell the couple to “walk away”. Those were the magic words that would cue Joshua to pop the question. Both of their families would then come out, and a celebration would ensue. And on January 12, at the Opry Conservatory, the plan went off without a hitch. Sophia said yes! Little did she know, the excitement was far from over. After a lunch filled with beer and family, Joshua gently reminded Sophia that, though she got her floral, family-filled proposal, and her sparkle, she had also asked for her friends to he present. Then he lead her into their house, where all of her best friends were sitting. Joshua truly nailed it, and they all partied the night away. Oh, and No, Sophia did not see any of it coming.

We spent our time indoors thinking a lot about our relationship. And after many games of UNO.... We are still getting married!! If need be, we will have COVID protocols in place. But we are hoping upon hope that a vaccine will be readily available by June, and that you all will partake!
