Our high school marching band traveled to Disney World to perform in the parade. The second night there, our two friend groups happened to meet to watch the Epcot firework show. The band was large, so it wasn't a surprise we'd never met. On the romantic bridge, we spent the entire show talking and laughing about nonsense. Our conversation continued as we walked back to the bus together at the end of the night, and rode back to the hotel. We found each other again a few days later when the band departed for Michigan, and sat together all the way home. We began dating the following November.

On Christmas Day, Jacob took Sophia back to Woodland Park, where we used to take walks when we first began dating. We reminisced with each other, recalling all of the fond memories we've had there. As we continued our walk, Jacob lead Sophia to an arrangement of tree branches and Christmas lights that he had constructed himself that morning. In that moment, Jacob got down on one knee, and proposed! Completely surprised, Sophia gasped and, without hesitation, said YES!
