Tyler and I met the first day of my freshman year of college at Kent State! He being the kind guy he is, volunteered to help people move into the dorms. Move in day rolls around and Tyler is one of the few people putting together my dorm room, but honestly there was so much going on that I didn’t really remember even talking to him that day. Fast forward a couple months & we see each other at a Young Life Halloween party where I walked up to him and started chatting with him which he later told me he thought it was odd that I did that! At the end of the party I found out that it was his birthday so we all sang him happy birthday at the end of the night. About a month or so later, he hears that I was looking for an on campus job and funny enough, he had one! He told me to meet up with him and he would introduce me to his boss and tell her to hire me, and that’s just what he did! After starting to work together we talked a lot more and got to know each other more, we decided to start dating in March of 2018!

Tyler proposed on a cloudy December day! The day before he proposed, he said we were going to his parents but he told me he was going to help paint their house. The morning of, he casually asks me if I wanted to go to the Lake before his parents, and with my suspicion I said “sure!”. We had an hour drive to the lake and I was so nervous when we pulled in! We went down by the water and walked around, skipped a few rocks, and just stood side by side. He asked if I wanted my Christmas present and I responded very excited “sure!” And he got down on one knee and asked me to marry him!
