Maureen is Vanessa's younger sister, although they are often mistaken for twins! Maureen is definitely one of Vanessa's best friends. Throughout their entire childhood and now adulthood, they have always been so close. For the past few years, they have lived as roommates and have cherished this time together in this sweet season of life. They have the same silly humor and love to laugh at random movies. You can often see Maureen working out, cooking up a yummy meal in the kitchen, going to Mass, or spending time with her dog, Bear. She is the best Maid of Honor and Vanessa's longest friend!
Ashley Rutt

Ashley and Vanessa met in kindergarten at Waggoner Elementary. They distinctly remember becoming best friends while skipping around in P.E. class together. Over the past 25 years, they have always been there for one another. Ashley and Vanessa have always been like sisters with endless phone calls and audio messages, funny dance routines, and inside jokes over the years. Although she loves working as a diagnostic medical sonographer, she loves spending time with her husband, Tyler, and adorable kids: Brecken (ring bearer), Peyton (flower girl), and Jaxon James (newborn!).
Mary Massell

Mary is a gem of a friend to Vanessa! They met in 2021 and instantly became friends through the Tepeyac Leadership Initiative and Young Catholic Professionals. Although they initially met virtually, they met at Phoenix Sky Harbor airport when they realized they were both on the same flight, and both attending separate funerals. This holy friendship is one that will last a lifetime. Mary shares the same love for Dumb and Dumber as Vanessa. She got engaged one week before Vanessa and Shawn, and she is getting married at the Baltimore Basilica to the love of her life, Max, in September 2023.

Whitney and Vanessa met while working together in 2019! Although Whitney is an occupational therapist and Vanessa is a speech-language pathologist, they love to collaborate and connect on their shared love for helping individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. They love taking day trips to Sedona, meeting up for coffee, and getting together with their dogs. Whitney is a lover of all things health-related and strives to live her best life daily. She is happily married to Scott, and they recently celebrated their 1 year anniversary!
Chelsea Orso

Chelsea is known as Vanessa's résumé twin! At Arizona State University (Go Sun Devils), Chelsea and Vanessa both studied speech and hearing sciences, while also achieving a business minor. While there, they worked at the Language and Reading Research Consortium lab together. After they graduated, they both went to Northern Arizona University where they became masters of speech-language pathology. In between studying, they loved drinking coffee during the day and dancing at night. Chelsea got married 2 years ago to Landis, and they are expecting their first baby boy in October!

Amanda is not only Vanessa's future sister-in-law, but she is an amazing friend too! Amanda is Shawn's oldest sister. From the moment they met, Amanda welcomed Vanessa into the family. Amanda is genuine, thoughtful, friendly, and ambitious! Vanessa cannot wait to officially have Amanda as her future sister. Amanda recently got married to Josiah this year in San Diego!

Amber is a shining light! She is full of joy and fun to be around. Amber is Shawn's 2nd oldest sister and Vanessa's future sister-in-law! In Texas, she lives with her husband, Zach Dale. They are expecting their first baby, Bailey, in September! Although Amber loves working as a family therapist, she cannot wait to be a mom. Bailey is Vanessa and Shawn's first niece, making them both an auntie and uncle!

Brittany is Shawn's younger sister, or rather, the baby of the family! Vanessa loves hanging around Brittany, who reminds her a lot of Maureen. Brittany is cheerful, kindhearted, and witty. She loves living life to the fullest by spending quality time with her family and friends, working hard, and having fun. Vanessa cannot wait to call Brittany her future sister-in-law!
Zachary Smith

Zachary and Shawn have been friends since kindergarten in the hallways of St. James Catholic School. This friendship is comparable to Shawn and Cory from Boy Meets World. Although they no longer live in the same state, they manage to keep in touch as he is busy helping raise his two little daughters with Kyra.

Shawn has known Joey since his freshman year at Damien High School where they met at football practice. Since then, they’ve been friends without knowing before they met that their dads were best friends in high school. Joey is an avid adventure seeker who loves to spend his time surfing, riding dirt bikes, or camping on the beach. He enjoys spending time with his wonderful girlfriend, Jen, in Chino, CA.
Daniel Barron

Daniel and Shawn met at a Young Catholic Professionals event in July 2022. This is the same event where Vanessa met Shawn for the first time! Daniel and Shawn struck a conversation in line and were soon after having beers and both talking about their California roots. They both share a love for sports whether it’s at the driving range, shooting hoops, or rooting for their respective LA NFL teams. Daniel hangs his hat in Arcadia, AZ.
William Herding

Shawn and Will met at their first Young Catholic Professionals event and kicked it off with a friendship. Vanessa and Will had met a month prior at a Bible study. Will is now Shawn’s financial advisor and golf buddy when it's not a 100 degrees. Will enjoys traveling in his free time. He is engaged to his fiancée, Kenzie, and lives in Arcadia, AZ.

Shawn first met Alex at the University of Arizona in between classes at the Eller College of Management (Bear Down). It started off as helping each other study for finals, but led to fishing trips, football games, cold beers, and enjoying our motto: “Live life to the fullest”. Alex recently moved to Austin, TX and is training for a triathlon.

Shawn met Josiah, his newest brother-in-law, one day at the family house when his sister, Amanda, brought him over. Josiah loves to surf and enjoys teaching people to surf. Josiah and Amanda recently were married in June 2023 and reside in San Diego, CA.
Zach Dale

Shawn first met his brother-in-law over a decade ago at the Temecula mall when his sister, Amber, introduced him to Zach. Since then, Zach has been a part of the family and has always been a lively person. Zach grew up in a military family and has lived in different parts of the world. Zach and Amber have been married for over 5 years and are expecting their first child this September!

Tyler and Shawn met at Vanessa’s family home one weekend and instantly connected with their love of music as Tyler turned up the volume on his speakers. Tyler and Shawn also love to enjoy a slice of pizza. Tyler has always been a boisterous and wonderful brother to Vanessa and Maureen. Shawn can’t wait to have Tyler as his future brother-in-law!

Brecken is our wonderful ring bearer! He is a smart cookie who knows everything there is to know about football - seriously! Brecken is funny, active, and the sweetest older brother. He is the son of Vanessa's best friend and bridesmaid, Ashley.

Peyton is our cute flower girl! She is an absolute sweetheart. Peyton adores her big brother, Brecken, and is in love with her newborn baby brother, Jaxon. You can always find her giggling and making others smile. Peyton is the daughter of Vanessa's best friend and bridesmaid, Ashley.
