The Beginning (2011 - 2019)

First come school, then comes..

Nicole: We first met at Clarkson during Physics I lab freshman year. He had walked in late and I had already paired off with another girl as my lab partner. We were only supposed to work in groups of two, but Trev decided to tag along with us (smart given the Clarkson ratio at the time - 70:30). I remember he got a higher score on the first physics test (by 3 points, if that), and I made sure to not let that happen again the rest of the semester. After that, Trev ignored me, for three years (I always said hi in the hallways for the record)... Until.. my roommates and I decided to throw a pre-Springfest party at our Woodstock apartment junior year (2014). I had invited Alex (groomsman) and told him to bring whoever he wanted. That's when I saw Trev again and declared "I know you!" We have been together ever since! Trevor: Nicole and I first met freshman year in physics lab as she was actually my lab partner. I felt like we were getting along pretty well, but I did end up beating her on our first physics test and which she did not seem to take too well! (Although she did beat me on the next two) She was definitely a little against me after that! After the semester we really didn’t have much interaction unless she was ignoring me in the hallways. Now that is how I remember it even though she tells that story differently. Anyway, it wasn’t until junior year when my roommate Alex wanted to go to a party and bring “whoever he wanted” that we had really talked to each other. As the night went on we began talking more and our story really starts there. We haven’t stopped since.

The Proposal (23Mar2019)

Better late than never

Nicole: It was a cool, winter day in March, and I had found free tickets to a comedy show at the FunnyBone. That morning, Nora (bridesmaid) asked if we wanted to get our nails done. Not thinking anything of it, I agreed and asked her if she wanted to join us for the comedy show. Once home, we got ready to go out. Since I was going to be sitting in a dark room watching a comedian, I ignored Nora's subtle hints to put any effort into my hair and makeup. Wondering what was taking Trev so long, i asked Nora where he was and she said "I think he's out warming the car up for you." I remember thinking 'that's sweet, but he never does that..' I walked into our mudroom and there he was with flowers and balloons. I tried to get back into the house and get myself more together, but Nora pushed me forward. Trev started his spiel and all of sudden, Adrean (maid of honor) popped out from inside the garage to capture the moment. Five minutes after I had said yes, Guy (best man) showed up with a bottle of champagne. It was amazing to share this day with our closest friends. Trevor: I had known Nicole was the one for a long time. Now it may have it took me longer than some, (basically everyone thought so) but I was finally ready. I had so many thoughts and ideas on how I wanted to do it. It just felt like nothing was going to be good enough. I knew I wanted it to be a surprise but didn’t know how. Trying to find the right time was tough, so I finally decided just to go for it with a few weeks to plan. Even after setting the date I still struggled to come up with a plan of how to do it. It wasn’t until the week of I decided to bring in the reinforcements (aka Adrean and Nora) to help out. Everything after that was a blur. All I can say is it was great! There was balloons, pictures, and most importantly champagne (thanks to Guy). I think it played out perfectly for us. Just us and a few of our closest friends at home to share that experience was all we needed.
