Allison and Elliot met on April 23, 2017, at a graduate school end-of-year dinner and prayer meeting, the “Ordination to Daily Work,” that they both almost didn’t attend. Arriving late, Elliot took one of the only seats left available, at a table full of education students he didn’t know. But he latched onto his first opportunity to talk to the girl from Oklahoma he was seated near. Elliot and Allison immediately started having about seven different conversations at once (most of which are still probably going on today), and that night they ended up side-by-side as they prayed about the rest of their lives together. Allison and Elliot went on to hit it off tremendously, and stayed in touch when she moved back to Oklahoma and he to New York. Two road trips, dozens of handwritten letters, and innumerable cross-country flights later, on October 19, 2018, Elliot proposed on the steps to the building they were “ordained to daily work” together on that wonderful April day!
