Never believing that I would get married, I was deeply shocked when I asked Julia to date me the second night I met her. Even so, I felt this ethereal peace. The following day, I told my Mom I was pretty confident in my pick. In hindsight, I now see that after having prayed for so long to find someone I cared for, that she must have been my gift from God. She is my strongest supporter, my most trusted ally, and the only person that can calm my anger. She loves unconditionally, bending over backwards endlessly to support my drive without question. Where I am weak, she is strong, and where she is weak, I am strong. Together, we create an undefeatable team, where we sacrifice equally to benefit together. We live by one rule: Our relationship is not a 50/50. It is a 100/100.

It is hard to fit my feelings for George into an 800 character text box, but here I go. To me George is a feeling, he is the person that I never saw coming, he is my favorite iced vanilla latte on a hot summer day and my favorite shoulder to cry on when I swear the world is against me, I find myself most happy when I am just sitting next to him in complete silence, it is the most comforting thing to know you are heard without having to relive each moment out loud. Being with him is like being with myself, I have never met anyone more positive and optimistic than George. I knew he was my person when we shared our struggles and he could complete my sentences because he knew exactly what came next. George you are my forever best friend now let's just make it official!

Mary and I have known each other since senior year of high school, surprisingly so have Mary and George, they went to high school together, what a small ironic world God has created for us. Mary has been one of the most constant people in my life and I have cherished every moment with her. When most relationships fall apart Mary and I went through it all and came out stronger. She is the most driven friend I have and I admire her strength and passion for her future, it pushes me to be better and I am so thankful for her. Mary was a crucial part of the engagement surprise and is a huge part of George and I's life. We are honored to have her stand by our side as we promise each other eternity.

Alex Shalhoub is my brother, and one of my strongest allies on Earth. We've always been close, whether it was playing video games together, or sharing our deepest thoughts at midnight on the roof of our garage. He has a beautiful laugh and lightheartedness that can always ease my stress. In the toughest of times, he is someone who speaks a blunt yet simple and wise statement that snaps you back into perspective. Loyalty is his defining trait. Regardless of my many personal errors in our relationship, Alex never once betrayed my confidence or failed to be the better person. He is a wonderful human being, with a deep kindness for others, and an unbelievably creative mind. With so many amazing ideas locked away, I have no doubt that soon he will make a profound difference in the world.

Where to begin... the beaches of Dewey, the Roche Harbor Summers, Liz and I have spent a significant amount of our childhood summers together. Over the years I have watched her grow into the amazing and talented woman she has become and I am shellshocked by her constant positivity and amazing advancement in her future career. Most of my childhood memories consist of her right by my side, it is safe to say my summers wouldn't have been the same without her, that is why I couldn't imagine my wedding day without her in it!

Mark Qadado is the incarnation of the concept, "If you can imagine it, then it has happened." He can always help turn your frown upside down, being able to find the humor in even the roughest parts of life. Yet, behind the laughter is an intelligent and wise man, who can discuss the intricate details of complex topic at length for hours. Bonding over our political views, Mark and I have had many nights debating ideas and trying to uncover truth in a world filled with so many concepts. I have cherished my friendship with Mark over one simple fact--he's a great man. He's honest, trustworthy, always there for you, and continuously reaches out to me to check in, even though the busyness of my life may make me absent sometimes.

As George's and my relationship has grown, so has Nadia's and my relationship. You will never meet a sweeter sister-in-law, we've cried together, laughed together and lived together. She is one of the smartest people I know and I admire her endless will to succeed in her passion for medicine. Virginia Tech is just the beginning to her amazing future! I am beyond excited to have her stand by me as I marry her brother who she has watched (every step of the way I might add) become the man he is today.

Nathan is someone who I've made many amazing memories with. No matter how long we go without speaking, we can always get on FaceTime and talk like it hasn't been a day since we last spoke. He is one of the deepest and most intellectual people I've ever met. So many of my memorable moments in life were with him in the dead of night at a basketball court, where we would shoot hoops and discuss the most touchy topics of life. Whether it was the meaning of being alive, how to achieve success, or sharing each others mistakes to analyze and reflect--I owe so much of my personal development to our talks. Together, we both destroyed ourselves and came out new men, forged out of sheer will and relentless reflection. It is that journey which makes us friends for life.
