We met through a chance encounter at the gym. Joanna was having a personal training session, while Mike was walking into the gym and made small talk about mac and cheese to her and her personal trainer. When Mike left, Joanna asked the trainer to help the two of them connect and the rest is history.

Mike wanted a storybook proposal for his book loving girlfriend Joanna, so he coordinated with local bookstore Tombolo and a graphic designer to create a special book for her to find in that book store. When she discovered the book and found that the inside was blank, he asked if they should write it together and popped the question.
