How it all began

It was September 2016; I was in Pittsburgh with my mom and sister for a Steelers game when I mentioned to my mom that I was meeting a guy for drinks at the beginning of the week. Casually my mom says “What’s his name. ?" I reply “Ross.” My mom giggled. She loves the show Friends and I have a sister named Rachel and well, I am basically Monica. My mom said “Well, this must be the one!” We met at Half Cut, where I proceeded to kick his ass in Connect Four. The conversation flowed easily. We both enjoy sports, both went to UC, both born in Ohio and we both LOVE our dogs!!! He talked about Dalton and I had to brag about my Henry. The next step was to introduce the boys. What if they didn’t get along? Henry likes everyone. But what if Ross didn’t like Henry? (gasp) Well, the pups got along fabulously!!!! as did Ross and I so all was good. One of my favorite fall activities is going to the pumpkin patch. Who doesn’t enjoy a stroll through a field on a crisp fall day?? During our excursion, I decided to make it official and ask Ross out. He assumed we were already dating since we had been spending so much time together. The one thing he forgot to do was ask me... so I asked, and the rest is history......

The Engagement

One of Ross and my favorite things to do is to explore new cities! We make it a tradition that every Spring & Fall we try to go to a new city together, so this trip was to Montréal, Canada. We were both very excited for this trip and to explore this gorgeous city, although due to some bumps in the road with travel we thought we weren't going to make it there. After some flight changes and a very long day we landed in Montréal at 2:00 am Saturday July 20th! We blew through customs and caught an Uber & we were off to our hotel. We got a solid 5 hours of sleep & then we had a day of adventure ahead! The game plan was to get brunch and then to climb to the top of Mt. Royal. I had a feeling that it could be happening on this trip so I was fully prepared with outfits and wore a cute pair of jeans, a crop top shirt with some sticky boobs....not appropriate climbing attire to say the least. We ate our brunch and then we were off! Little did I realize that this was a legit climb...or at least Ross turned it into one. Lots of sweat and some sticky boobs clinging to dear life later and we made it to the top! Mt. Royal overlooks the city of Montréal and the view is gorgeous...aka ideal engagement spot, but it still hasn't happened! We take some pictures and go to cool off for a bit before making the climb back down. So in my head, it's not happening today I guess. We walk over to this shaded secluded spot and that is when Ross gets down on one knee and asked me to marry him!
