Sharyn could only see Jaime's bright blue eyes above her mask (Covid restrictions were still a thing), but she knew this girl was something special. Sharyn asked if Jaime would go on a date with her son, and gave Jaime Brandon's number. Later that night, Jaime text Brandon while he was playing volleyball in Long Beach. "She text me first," he exclaimed. A few days later, on Sunday, August 28, we got coffee at Riptides and went for a walk on the boardwalk in Long Beach. Brandon gave Jaime several opportunities to end the date, but we just kept going, walking 4 miles on the boardwalk. The following weekend, we went for dinner and sat on the beach until the early hours of the morning. The dates became more frequent as our love for one another grew. On October 8, 2022, Brandon and Jaime got coffee and went for a walk at Norman J. Levy Park in Merrick. It was on the drive home when Brandon asked Jaime to be his girlfriend. As the days, months, and years passed we travelled the country together, attended many concerts, and spent hours on end at the beach. We enjoyed lots of ice cream, tacos, Moscow mules, and bottles of wine. Born just two days apart, we have celebrated birthdays, weddings, new jobs, and holidays; sharing our traditions while creating new ones. We moved in together and welcomed an adorable labradoodle, Max, to our family. On October 18, 2025, Brandon asked Jaime to marry him while visiting Del Vino Vineyards in Northport, NY.
