A date I would never forget. It was the day I met my future wife Abby. We met completely by chance on Match.com for a free trial weekend. I remember seeing her profile and reading about her interests, values, and goals in life and I was immediately intrigued. So I sent her a message and hoped for the best but never expected her to respond let alone on the same night! We talked for hours getting to know one another and I knew that moment something was different about this girl. There were so many similarities between us that I felt like it couldn’t be just coincidence but God bringing us together. After a day or two of messaging I knew I wanted to meet her in person. So when I got the courage to ask her I noticed our messages were gone! I thought she unmatched me and I was immediately disappointed and discouraged. I lost all hope. But in that moment I felt like God was telling me to not give up. Reach out one more time. Even though it was pointless to send a message that wouldn’t go through. I sent one anyway with my phone number. And 15 minutes later I get a text from Abby! There was a glitch on the app and messages were not working properly. She was so frantic and I was so relieved! We decided no more website. Just text and meet in person. After weeks of traveling, babysitting, and being sick we finally got to meet each other in person for lunch. And it was the best first date I ever had! I remember leaving that evening and sitting in my truck praying, “Please God, let this girl like me, because I know I already love her.” Things moved very quickly from there. So many fun dates and conversations! Next thing you know she is meeting my family for Thanksgiving and I am going home with her to Minnesota for Christmas with her family. So many wonderful feelings and memories that I will cherish forever! I knew that I wanted to spend the rest of my life with this amazing person who has the biggest heart and is the best teammate I could ever ask for. So I asked Abby to marry me and make me the happiest man in the world. And I am so blessed she said “Yes.” I can’t wait to share the rest of life’s journey with you Honey! The best adventure I could ever dream of. I promise to always walk with you side by side and be there whenever you need me. You make me a better man every single day and I am so grateful God brought us into each other’s lives.
