How it All Began...

Hold for Sound.

It was a bright sunny day in Hollywood, California, when Josué was unloading his sound equipment from his truck. Little did he know that this day would change his life. As he began to unpack, a beautiful Korean girl named Soo arrived on set. At first glance, Josué was immediately struck by her warm smile and kind eyes. He shook his head and told himself, “Focus, you have a job to do.” Gathering his composure, he walked over and introduced himself. Soo smiled and said, “Hi Josué! So happy to meet you—excited to get to work with you today!” The day went on as they worked together on the film set. When lunchtime came around, Josué felt his heart start to race. Standing near Soo, he couldn’t help but blush. The crew eventually returned to work, but Josué found it hard to stop thinking about her. That feeling stayed with him well into the next day. On the final day of filming, everyone was excited as the project wrapped. Josué, however, was a little more excited than usual. His brother noticed and jokingly asked, “So what do you think about Soo?” Josué immediately began to blush, and they all laughed. 🎬

Lost Mic's!

Daydreaming...

A couple of days passed, and Josué couldn’t stop thinking about Soo. He told himself he might never see her again—or so he thought. Ring! Ring! Ring! Josué grabbed his phone, and the caller ID read: Soo. He quickly stepped outside and took a deep breath, trying to play it cool. He answered the phone, and they began talking. It turned out Soo was missing a couple of lavalier microphones and wondered if they might have been left in his bag. Josué said he would check right away. To his surprise, there they were. He let Soo know he had the mics and suggested meeting up to return them. She agreed. As the week went on, Josué couldn’t stop thinking about her and found himself genuinely excited to see Soo again. 🎤

Café Con Pan

Let's grab some coffee!

The day to meet up arrived. Josué checked the microphones were safely in his bag and sent Soo the location. They agreed to meet halfway at a Mexican coffee shop. Josué arrived ten minutes early, feeling nervous and needing a moment to settle in. As time passed, he looked around, trying to decide what to order. Then he saw her—walking in with her bright pink backpack, heading toward the counter to grab a drink. As he started walking over, she spotted him and waved cheerfully. “Hi Josué! I’m getting an oat milk matcha—do you want anything?” He paused for a second and said, “I’ll just have a mocha,” even though he had been thinking about a cinnamon churro latte. Soo grabbed their drinks along with a paper bag and walked back over. “Hey! I hope it’s okay that I grabbed some bread for us—I’m just really hungry.” Josué smiled and replied, “No worries, I love bread.” And he did—though he conveniently forgot he was on a keto diet. They sat down and talked for nearly 90 minutes, the time passing effortlessly. It wasn’t until Soo mentioned she had to leave that they finally got up. They walked together to the parking lot, where Josué handed her the microphones. After saying goodbye, he headed home. On the drive back, he couldn’t stop smiling the entire way—and he knew he wanted to see her again. ☕️

The Lighthouse

The night is young.

As the weeks went on, Josué couldn’t stop thinking about Soo. He knew he wanted to see her again, but wasn’t sure how—until an opportunity came up. One of Josué’s friends urgently needed a ride to the airport in Los Angeles. Being the good friend he is, Josué agreed to help. The next day, he texted Soo. “Hey Soo! I hope your week is going amazing. I’m gonna be in LA dropping a friend off at LAX—wanna grab a bite after?” Later that day, Soo replied and suggested a Korean spot. The day arrived. Josué picked up his friend and headed toward the airport, telling him about Soo along the way. Then, unexpectedly, Soo called. “Hey Josué! I’m really excited for tonight. I was wondering if I could bring a friend?” Without hesitation, Josué replied, “Hey Soo… I was kind of hoping it would be just a me and you type of thing.” There was a brief pause. “Oh, I see… well I’ll see you tonight,” she said. The call ended, and Josué wasn’t quite sure how to feel—but he decided to trust the moment. After dropping his friend off at LAX, he made his way to the restaurant and waited for Soo. Eventually, she arrived and explained she was running late because she had been out watching a parade with a friend, but chose to drop her off so she could make it to dinner. Josué and Soo talked for hours, almost until the restaurant closed. When they stepped outside, Josué said, “The night is still young—let’s go for a walk.” Soo agreed. They went to a lighthouse in Downtown Long Beach and sat down together. The moon gleamed brightly as Josué leaned in and looked at her. “Soo, I haven’t stopped thinking about you since I met you. And I don’t think I will anytime soon. I wanted to know if you’d want to get to know each other as more than friends.” Soo looked at him, surprised and speechless for a moment, then softly said, “I’m interested.” And just like that, this moment became the beginning of Soo and Josué’s journey—one that, a year later, would bring them back to the very same lighthouse, where Josué would ask Soo to marry him. 💛 💛 💛
