We're getting married!

Jason and I met in high school when I drove my friend (and Jason’s neighbor) to school each morning. Jason found out this cool older girl was giving his friend rides and decided to get in on it too! It was like a little party every morning as I realized Jason was one of the funniest people I had ever met. Sometimes if I were about to cry in math class, I would text Jason. He would leave his class and soon walk in front of my classroom, making funny faces, walking like Shaggy from Scooby Doo, or doing other silly things to cheer me up. My favorite thing to do with Jason back then was go to Carver Lake and swim across the lake. Since I am a year older, I went to college first and moved away to Duluth. We lost touch for almost five years. On April 21, 2018, I was sitting in the window of Tony’s Diner at the University of Minnesota. I saw Jason from across the street and ran out of Tony’s and straight to him! We spent the rest of the day catching up. I told him I was moving to Minneapolis and having a housewarming party at the end of June. I really didn’t think he would come, but three months later, he showed up at my door, and he’s never left since! Swimming at Carver in Woodbury evolved into swimming at Bde Maka Ska in Uptown. On February 22, 2019, Jason said the best words I’ve ever heard, “I’ve loved you since the docks. I loved you then, and I love you now, and I don’t know why it took me so long to say, but I love you.” I’m so grateful for our friendship when we were young. I’m even more thankful that we grew into our own and met again. I’ve had the best four and a half years of my life, and I know the best is yet to come. I always wanted to have a big family, so I know I lucked out being welcomed into Jason’s ginormous family. (He has like 40 aunts and uncles and 2,000 cousins.) I get to have not just one but two amazing sisters-in-law, two sweet nieces, and a great brother-in-law too. Joe and Gloria raised the best son in the world, and I am so thankful for them. Joe and Gloria have always treated me with love and kindness, and I can’t wait to officially be a part of their family. Jason fits perfectly into my family. It makes me so happy how nice he is to my parents and brother and how he treats everyone. He embraces everything Indian! Jason is truly my best friend. He treats me like a princess. (I mean did you seeeeee the engagement video??) If not, scroll back up to see the best day of my life. He has made every aspect of my life better.
