Janet and Daniel first met at Manhattan Beach Post for their first date on October 21, 2018. They ordered half the menu, and over some delicious bacon cheddar biscuits, they discussed food and life and hopes and dreams. As they said their goodbyes, Janet felt the spark of something special. Little did Janet know, Daniel had already felt that spark. For the couple had actually met several months before, at the wedding of mutual friends. They were seated at neighboring tables, and as Daniel stood to give his Best Man toast, he caught sight of Janet and ended up fumbling through his speech. It took most of the night for him to muster up the courage to speak to her, but once he was ready, she had already left for the evening. Thanks to Daniel’s determination and the help of some wonderful friends (shoutout to Cat, Annie, Charles, Jeff), he managed to get ahold of the beautiful Janet and convinced her to give him a shot. Two years later, that one wedding would spark a relationship full of laughter and love, Disney and Marvel, sushi and katsu. And now, Janet and Daniel are excited to celebrate their commitment to each other with you, their treasured family, and friends. It is the couple’s greatest wish to feed their spark into a lasting love that is fueled by much of what blesses them: God, family, friends, and of course delicious food. Janet and Daniel understand it is a difficult time to gather, but whether you are able to celebrate in-person or from afar, they remain determined to spread joy and love to wherever you are. We can’t wait to celebrate with you!
Many of you are probably wondering what our hashtag means. Our hashtag is a play on words in Korean with our last names Son and Yoo to mean "give me your hand" like asking for a person's hand in marriage. Son = hand Joo-sae-yo = please give me but replaced the yo with Yoo
