This is an overnight event at a private campground with cabins and more than anything else we'd like everyone to stay with us on-premises and party all night. The 2 main parts of the event are listed below and the RSVP page will ask you to mark your attendance for each of these events separately so we can plan accordingly. Additionally, you'll be prompted to confirm whether you are staying at the venue or not so that we can divvy up the cabins.
The Main Event (Saturday) The Ceremony will start at 4:30pm and be followed by a Dinner and Reception. Please arrive at 11AM to set up your cabin and enjoy the lake. The River Float (Sunday) Around noon, we’ll depart from the venue and head to the Delaware River with our tubes for a celebratory float.
Saturday Lunch Saturday Dinner Sunday Breakfast Sunday Sandwich Station for River Float
Camp Sacajawea sits on 200 acres of open space. Hiking trails surround the property and there is a fabulous lake with a beach and dock for swimming and canoeing, so bring a bathing suit and towel.
If you haven't told us you're bringing a tent or trailer, you'll be assigned a shared cabin (bring your own pillows, sheets, blanket, and/or sleeping bag). If for whatever reason you'd like an alternative sleeping arrangement, there will be some large platform tents on the premises that you and the other guests can freely claim spots in (these are shared tents that fit 6-8 people). Bringing your own camping supplies will grant you the most flexibility.
The official dress code is casual. July is hot and humid in New Jersey and we’ll be out in the sun, so plan accordingly or at least bring a change of clothes. A nice shirt (or tee shirt) and shorts are fine. Please don't wear a suit.
On Sunday we’ll head out to the Delaware River to float a beautiful section between Dingmans Ferry and Eshback. You’ll need to bring your own floaty, but a $10 tube or pool toy from the supermarket is more than enough if you don't have one already. Although you do not need to wear one, you must have a life jacket on your person as the rangers in the Delaware Water Gap do often check and not having one could complicate our float. There are cheap Type II life jackets to be had for $12 online. This is a favorite summertime activity of ours and we’d love for you to join. We anticipate meeting at the Dingmans Ferry Boat Ramp around 1:00PM and being back at our cars close to 6:00 PM.
