Our Story

Our story began at a wedding—how fitting, right? We first crossed paths during the wedding festivities of one of Sonam’s friends. Nick had just come back from the groom’s legendary bachelor party and decided to make an appearance at the wedding events. Sonam, on the other hand, was there for her friend and not in the mood for small talk. From the start, Nick was intrigued, but Sonam wasn’t giving him much to work with—one-word answers, polite smiles, and expertly avoiding extended conversation. But then came the garba night. Nick knew she loved to dance, so he made his move… to the dance floor. He followed her steps clumsily, and Sonam—reluctantly but sweetly—began teaching him how to do garba. It was awkward. But it was adorable. And it was the beginning of something. Fast forward to the wedding reception: Nick, undeterred by Sonam’s cool exterior, walked up to her and said, “I’m gonna shoot my shot—can I have your number?” To his surprise, she handed it over. The next day, they talked for five and a half hours. The conversation flowed effortlessly, and something just clicked. Before the night was over, Nick had already booked her a flight to visit him in Austin the very next week. From then on, they met every two weeks to keep the spark alive and so Sonam wouldn’t get bored of Nick. He asked her to be his girlfriend on the mountains of Asheville. And as time went on and they fell in love, he proposed to her on top of the mountains of Switzerland. And now that the time for a wedding has come, they decided to get married within the mountains of Arizona. What started as a spontaneous dance, a bold request, and a leap of faith turned into countless adventures, laughter, love, and now… a wedding. The rest, as they say, is history.
