Savion and Jenny have always known each other since elementary school. Savion had a crush on Jenny in middle school, but Jenny thought he was weird so they remained just friends. They lost touch with each other for a couple of years when Savion transferred to a different school in seventh grade. They reconnected during a summer job at a restaurant where Jenny was a food runner and Savion was a busboy. Savion always gave Jenny a ride to work in his green Honda Civic. It was the summer before Jenny left for college in Pittsburgh, and although both Savion and Jenny knew that a long distance relationship will be tough, they still decided that they wanted to be with each other. After many phone conversations and FaceTime calls, we fell in love and have been inseparable since.
Savion had asked Jenny to go on a "date" the week prior. Jenny was suspicious because although we always go on dates, we had always just called it dinner. During the week leading up to the proposal, Savion kept making comments to Jenny such as "are you going to get your nails done?" "your nails look ugly." Jenny recalled telling Savion years ago that if he was ever going to propose, he needed to make sure Jenny had her nails done. Savion even had his mom ask Jenny to go get their nails done together, which they never done before. Jenny definitely knew Savion was proposing now. During dinner, Savion was awkward and quiet (more than usual) and all Jenny kept thinking about was "when is he going to propose?!" Savion did not propose at the restaurant and insisted that we go on a walk afterwards at the Penn's Landing waterfront. It was freezing outside and Jenny wanted to go back in the car. After what seemed to be hours later, Savion finally got down on one knee and before he could even say "Do you want to marry me," Jenny interrupted him by saying "I KNEW IT!" So are Jenny and Savion even engaged if Savion never asked? We may never know. But here we are.
