We decided to combine ceremony elements with dinner and reception events for a completely unique wedding. After each course, we will incorporate an aspect of ceremony, culminating in a pronouncement of our union with dessert and toasts.
We are hopeful that our guests will participate in a Contra Dance with us to celebrate our union! Contra dance is a social dance which usually has a caller and live musicians. The structure of this dance style emphasizes community and collaboration, where dancers are encouraged to change partners with each dance and learn from each other as you go. The caller teaches each dance at its start, and walks dancers through a couple rounds before the musicians are added. Whatever you fancy! We do recommend something comfortable enough to dance in. Our concept overall is a modern medieval feast so feel free to dress in medieval inspired garb, modern cocktail or evening wear, or anything that makes you feel festive!
