Luke & Alex met through Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) during the fall of 2018. Luke's Version - I'd been attending BSF for a year before I noticed Alex on the first class night of the 2018 study. At the time I was just a group member while Alex was a group leader. Through subtle observation, I determined she was beautiful both physically & spiritually and I was interested in getting to know her better but did my best not to communicate that right away. It wasn’t until early November that one of my BSF friends texted me and asked if I had any interest in Alex and if so, encouraged me to pursue her. I saw this as God opening doors! It was at that moment that I then went into mission impossible mode and proceeded to think of the best ways I could initiate a conversation with Alex that wouldn’t feel weird. It was a couple weeks later that I asked her about a group hike and about a month after that when I decided I wanted to call Alex my girlfriend. I asked her on our first date on Dec 6th in the parking lot of where we met for BSF. Alex's Version - I was already on the leadership team and a couple weeks into the study, Luke was asked to join leadership. I didn't know much about him but during his first leader's meeting learned that his family had a bluegrass band...interesting. After some Facebook sleuthing and stealing a few glances on class night, I determined that he was definitely cute and worth getting to know better. I never would have made my interest known directly but was definitely interested. In early November, I led a group hike for our BSF class (that Luke could not attend, even though I wished that he could, again, not communicated) but the week after that hike he came up and asked me how the hike went (internal squeal). I'd already been rehearsing what follow up question I would ask him if given the chance and from there a friendship developed over a shared interest in ultimate frisbee, music, and a love for our families.
