Bangor airport is about an hour’s drive to Acadia. Car rentals are available. If you’re flying in and are not getting a rental car and thus need a ride from the airport to your housing, please let us know!

The biggest hub other than Portland International Airport. 3 hour drive to Acadia. Car rentals are available.

Additional Housing options

There are a PLETHORA of rentals available in the Mount Desert, Tremont and Bar Harbor areas. Above is just a slice of popular options but there are plenty more inns and hotels available. There are also plenty of rentals available on Airbnb and VRBO if you’d prefer to stay at one rather than a local or chain hotel. Campgrounds near or within Acadia also are available for cabins and cottages for a more forest-centered adventure. Make sure to book sooner than you think you need to. It’s best to book at least 5-6 months ahead of time. September is leaf peeping season up here in lobstah country and many folks travel up here to witness it. Those dates will slip right through your fingers if you wait.

Flight

Boston International Airport

This will be a 5 hour drive from Boston to Acadia if you rent a car from this airport. However, this is the largest flight hub so we know it may be the easiest spot to snag a more affordable flight in and out. There are buses from Boston airport to Portland Airport, as well!
