How We Met

No Distance is Too Great!

Brooke and Solomon met at a wedding in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania on August 31, 2025. At the time, Solomon was living in Monterey, California, studying Mechanical Engineering at the Naval Postgraduate School, while Brooke had just moved to Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania for work. During the wedding, Brooke and Solomon exchanged a few glances, made some small talk, and even shared a few dances. They hit it off, but when the night ended, they went their separate ways. During the wedding, they found out that the bride intentionally placed them at the same table in hopes to set them up. Little did she know at the time, that it worked! After the wedding and reception ended, they met up at the church (with a friend of Brooke's posted up at the nearby Sheetz) to get to know each other a little better. That conversation lasted hours—so long that Brooke’s mom nearly had a heart attack when she couldn’t get a hold of her. From that night on, Brooke and Solomon talked every single day, often for hours at a time, getting to know each other as intentionally as possible despite the distance. Just two weeks later, Solomon flew back to Pennsylvania for the weekend to meet Brooke’s family and friends and spend time together in person. During that trip they made their relationship official and from then on they logged countless airplane miles, flying back and forth as often as they could spending countless weekends in Harrisburg, PA, Philadelphia, PA, Monterey, CA, and San Francisco, CA.

Our Engagement

March 20th, 2026!!

After marking 6 months of officially dating, they were able to spend a few days together in Monterey, California where Solomon was currently stationed. On the first day of the trip, Solomon planned a hike through Big Sur state park since he knew hiking was one of Brooke's favorite activities. The day was hot and the hike was long and difficult, but once they reached the peak, Solomon pointed out the view and asked if they could just stand their for a while to take it all in. After admiring the view, he turned to Brooke and told her how much he loved her and how he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her. Solomon then asked what might of been the most nervous and important 4 words of his life and Brooke said "YES"! He had two friends waiting at the top of the mountain to take a few pictures of the proposal to capture the special moment.
