Cody was a military brat at the time, and had just moved to Fort Meade in time to start our 9th grade year. We had friends in common, and at first I really only knew him as the kid who was friends with everyone. If you asked anyone about him they'd either say "oh you mean the short kid who can do that crazy thing with his eyes?" or "that kid always has gum!" I really had never talked to him or had gotten to know him myself - until the day he sat across from me at lunch. He smiled at me, and basically it was history from there.
We had just bought our first home a few months back in May. We were eager to celebrate it with everyone and host a housewarming, but if you know anything about me - I tend to overthink things like this. That party took a little longer to plan than expected. Little did I know, I was planning what would also be my engagement party. Cody had this plan thought up for over a year. As terrible as he is with surprises, him and everyone who attended had kept that from me for a long time. Everyone circled around us while Cody was about to give what I thought would be a "thank you" speech for all who came. He got down on one knee instead.
Coming soon! We're so excited to share this next chapter in our lives with you.
