Izzy and Nick met on a dating app. Their first date was at the movies in Philly to see "Us". Nick texted Izzy before the date saying he would bring snacks to sneak into the theater, and asked what her favorite movie snacks were. She answered "cookies or Sour Patch Kids", thinking that Nick would show up with a couple of individual cookies OR a small box of Sour Patch Kids. Under that assumption, Izzy assured Nick that her bag was big enough to fit all the snacks in. When Nick arrived at the theater, he came with a box of 24 cookies AND a family sized bag of Sour Patch Kids. Izzy's bag was in fact NOT big enough to fit the snacks, so they abandoned the cookies and snuck the candy in. Nick promised to bring cookies on the next date, which he did.

Izzy and Nick were celebrating Christmas with Nick's family in New Jersey. After opening presents, Nick announced that Izzy had one more present hidden in the tree. Izzy, who is very bad at looking for things, could not find what Nick was referring to. Nick eventually intervened and handed Izzy a gold Christmas ornament, making Izzy believe that that was her present. Little did she know, the ornament opened, with the ring hidden inside. Izzy said "yes!" and they were engaged!
