Witness the iconic Space Needle to get a great view of the city. Also includes the Museum of Pop Culture, Pacific Science Center, and Chihuly Garden and Glass.
Obligatory stop when visiting Seattle. World famous market (best one I've been to) that is known for unique shops, diverse restaurants, the "original" Starbucks, and flying fish! (go to Pike's Place Fish Market and you'll see what I mean). Check out the infamous gum wall and Storyville Coffee (one of my favorite coffee spots). Near to the new Overlook Walk Park, Seattle Aquarium, and the Seattle Waterfront which includes the Great Wheel.
One of the best views you can get of the city with Mount Rainier (when the mountain is out as we say in Seattle!)
Fun and trendy neighborhood where you'll encounter a lot of what makes Seattle great including a variety of restaurants, bars, cafes (check out the Starbucks Reserve Roastery) and diverse crowds. Kizuki Ramen & Izakaya, Molly Moon's, and Dicks are all recommended. If you're looking for a fun nightlife atmosphere, look no further.
Sitting on Lake Union, this one of a kind park has amazing views of the city, especially at night. Nestled in between many of Seattle's best neighborhoods including Fremont, Ballard, and University District
Hogwarts like architecture situated on the University of Washington campus.
Taste the coast itself. Located at Pike's Place Market
Try their sesame latte! Located in Wallingford which is a good food spot too.
Bride’s favorite pesto place
Seattle is known for it's mix of city life and nature. Some of the most popular parks and beaches in the area include Discovery Park, Golden Gardens Park, Magnuson Park, and Alki Beach. Swimming not recommended due to the weather, but going for a short hike or walk is a great way to enjoy the PNW scenery.
We fell in love with nature and Washington after moving to Seattle a few years ago, which means we enjoy the outdoors. Some of the best and not too difficult hikes near Seattle (need a car) include Rattlesnake Ledge, Wallace Falls, Lake 22, Heather Lake, and Little Si. Check weather and trail conditions before hitting the trails.
We are blessed to call Seattle our home. Surrounded by 3 national parks, Seattle is one of the prettiest places to be in during summer wedding season. Car and time required. If you have the capacity, Mount Rainier and Olympic National Park are well worth the trek. Hikes for everyone and every skill set, some parts of the parks may not be accessible in early summer.
For the person who is staying for at least a few days or a week, why not explore the PNW outside of Seattle? Portland (down south) is about 3 hours away from Seattle and Vancouver, British Columbia (up north) is about 2.5 hours away from Seattle. Bring your passport if going to Vancouver. Each of these major cities offer a distinctive taste from Seattle that makes your appreciate the PNW.
