African American Civil War Museum
One of the most recognizable sites in the U Street and Shaw area is the African American Civil War Memorial, which commemorates the more than 200,000 African-American soldiers and sailors who served in the U.S. Army and Navy during the Civil War.

The Newsuem is Soli's favorite museum in DC! It is a dynamic, engaging, and interactive museum of news that allows visitors to experience the stories of yesterday and today through the eyes of the media. Take some time to check it out while it's still here -- it is sadly closing it's doors at the end of this year.
