Wedding Party

Christine Park

Matron of Honor

I met Hannah our freshman year of college at a frat party (shocking but, yes, Hannah once attended a real-life frat party) and then again at a church small group. Throughout college, Hannah was my right-hand (wo)man and continues to be my best friend, sister, and (un)official third wheel. We've come a long way since having sleepovers on a twin bed in our dorm rooms, eating chips at 3am, and wearing sweatpants 24/7, but she remains one of the most selfless and kind people I know. Sending Hannah off feels a little bittersweet to me. I am sad to be replaced as Hannah's significant other, but I'm so glad that the person replacing me is Chris. Chris, I hope you never forget how lucky you are! xo Christine (Hannah's former-other half)

Hannah & I became friends as wee little freshmen in college 8 years ago. When we barely knew each other, she stuck her foot in my face during yoga, gave me an unasked for nickname that somehow spread and stuck, and danced on a boat. But we also developed a connection, whether through a shared love of dogs and old people or through discussing passions and future visions, that lasted even as we have spent the past 3 years geographically apart. We've done life together in NorCal, SoCal, Seattle, Bolivia, Korea, Iceland...and probably more places. I can't believe she's getting married but it's so exciting. She has a way of making people feel special and loved, and so I'm so happy for this day where she can feel special and loved for the unique and valuable individual she is.

It all started at Cal's Clark Kerr campus. Hannah and I met freshmen year as we ate our hearts out at her dorm and eventually made our way to Freshman 15. What began as just freshmen-year-friendliness turned to true comfort in sitting on the couch for hours (doing just about nothing), calling each other by strange nicknames, crying together, interceding for one another, and gushing over Zion.T & Crush with absolutely no shame. Little did I know as a freshman that I was stuffing myself with a girl who would soon become one of my most treasured friend, sister, and fellow grandma. It's truly been a blessing to share life with Hannah these past eight years and I'm so thrilled to stand beside her as she enters this new season :)

My friendship with Hannah started 15+ years ago when we stood in the church bible study room viciously throwing crayons at each other. Those feelings quickly dissipated when we bonded over our mutual love for Applebee's and other important matters 10 year olds discuss. Hannah has been by my side through so many life stages and it's truly a blessing to have a consistent and faithful friendship like ours. I couldn't be more excited to be standing next to Hannah on her big day and continue to love and support one another through another milestone!

Hannah and I first met in 2010 during our freshmen year at UC Berkeley. She was the tan Washingtonian with fierce winged eyeliner and face the size of a golf ball. Back then, I don't think I could've imagined that we would be as close as we are now! Hannah is the type of friend I would get super excited to see on campus and at church even though we lived together, and I think that image is a great representation of our friendship as a whole- her presence has just grown so comfortable and familiar over the years. Grateful for the past 8 years of friendship and to be able to walk into this next season of life with you Hammy :)

My first memory of Hannah was at an IV bible study in our freshman year of college. She was sitting across the room really quietly and calmly, offering super insightful comments from time to time. I thought to myself “wow that girl is so calm, cool, and collected.” Little did I know that in just a few months’ time, she’d be one of my friends I could be most hyper and weird and giggly with. I have thanked God soooooo many times for giving me a friend like Hannah- who can laugh with me until my stomach aches about the stupidest things but then also inspire me with something deep within the span of five seconds. So excited to see her enter this new (romaaaaaantical) era. Love you Kips~

I first met Hannah on the mission field, in Panama. Total strangers but thrown into the same bus to transport us to the missions' base. On our bus ride to the mission base, she offered her ear bud to me so that we can listen to some worship music. I remember thinking, "this girl is a woman of God--she communes with Him". Although we didn't become close friends from that trip, we were reconnected in seminary after several years, where God graciously gave us this friendship to share our life seasons (over gym workout sessions, Korean spa coupons, and prayer meetings) with, and to carry the same Kingdom values with!

Jason So

Best Man

I always wondered why Chris never called me hyung (big brother in Korean) growing up. Then, I realized it might be because of all the messed up things I did to him growing up. From swirlies to stealing his favorite t shirts even though they don’t fit me, I could see why he could have been low key bitter towards me. But it wasn’t until I graduated college that we began to deepen our understanding for each other. Despite all the mean things I did to him and plus all the hardships, Chris was always patient and loving towards me and our family. It’s that same love that Chris is beginning to learn how to have for Hannah, and I am proud and honored to be a part of that process.

I made the biggest mistake of my college career by adding Chris on Facebook before I even met him. Yes, I was THAT guy.. Chris had this group he hung out with and thought they were so cool, and I wanted to join, but it was quite tough to join his crew. But soon enough, I got to have a few conversations with him, and we began to grow closer together. It was strange because we both went through some pretty similar struggles in our lives and I think that allowed us to connect at a deeper level. This friendship I have with Chris is something I cherish and it’s been a true pleasure and joy walking beside him through all the good and bad times- but I must say, it was through our hardships and suffering that I am able to confidently say that this brotherhood is so precious.

I first met Chris at Biola at a Korean school club. Though I left the club the next year Chris and I continued to be good friends. We've prayed, played, and we've spent a lot of time together which helped establish our friendship. Aside from all the fun that we've had together, Chris is like a brother to me. He continues to keep up with me and asks me how I'm doing and cares for my spiritual life. He is there when I need to talk or vent and he is there for me when I need help. I know he is there for me when I am down, and he is there when I need encouragement. It has been 7 years of knowing Chris and it has always been a great blessing through and through.

I met Chris at Crossway Church when I was in 8th grade. Upon discovering that we had similar interests and humor, we got closer as we spent more time hanging out. We both shared a strong passion for basketball, food, sports, and celebrities. I would describe our friendship as goofy but serious at the same time.

Groomsman

I met Chris around 2013, I didn’t know him too well at first, but got to know him through some of the classes that we took together. Although at first we started off as acquaintances, I decided that I wanted to get closer with him as I noticed his love for God and his closeness with his brothers. Over the years I feel as though I’ve gained a solid brother in Christ who is both loyal and godly. From lots of laughter, to solid and encouraging conversations, I continue to do life with this man. I am excited for his marriage!

Nate Han

Groomsman

First time I met this man named Chris So was my first day at Crossway Church youth group in the sixth grade. As we bow our heads in prayers, I feel a tap on my leg, and this random kid points to his Nike check on his shorts and does a flick-of- the-wrist action – whispers “are you Basketball? You Basketball?” I nodded yes, and we giggled as we look at each other. This may seem insignificant, but this small interaction made me feel comfortable and settled down, and he would continue making feel welcomed showing me around and talking hoops. I cherish my friendship with Chris, and I realized that finding a true, genuine friend in this world is very hard to come by. Chris is a guy that I can always count on and go to when I have issues.
