We met in a professional setting and we each had VERY different ideas of where we saw this going. According to Xavier, 'I knew I was going to marry you the second I saw you.' As for me, I didn't even know he existed until he was awkwardly pointed out to me by his boss and my client. At the time, I was selling cable advertising and his boss was my very first client, looking back on it, I think that was the only reason they bought a commercial from me. Anyway, after a failed attempt to get my number (twice), a free carwash, the best hug I have ever had in my life and months of impatiently waiting, I finally gave him a shot. Our first date we went hiking at The Bluffs and sat in the parking lot of Dunkin' Donuts on Chapman Highway talking for hours. At the end of the night, I knew 2 things: 1 - Never speed across the Chapman highway bridge 2 - I was going to marry that man. The only thing I was unsure of was the age difference. As you all know, I am a tad bit older than him and that almost cost me the best, most challenging love I have ever known. A piece of advice, don't miss out on something because of a technicality. Over the past few years, we have grown so much. Moved 3 times, bought a house, adopted a dog, lived together, lived across the country from one another, moved again, started 4 new jobs (collectively), opened an office, met new friends and lost one of the most precious souls we have ever known. Through all of that, our love remained. Xavier, it has been one HELL of a ride, but I can't wait to do forever with you!
