Things To DoThings To Do

Scott spent his childhood visiting his cousins in Santa Barbara and surfing Rincon with his brother Barry, while Jenna, spending her college years here as a proud UCSB alum, also has cherished memories of visiting her great uncle with her cousins in Carpinteria. This beautiful coastal region holds a special place in both their hearts—here are a few of their favorite things to do in the area…
Visit the Beach!

This is a photo of Ledbetter Beach... all beaches here are beautiful and worth a peek if not a full beach day! There is also a great path that frames the sand making it a perfect bike ride to cruise the shores.

Head to the Funk Zone

Head to the Funk ZoneHead to the Funk Zone

The Funk Zone is a trendy and vibrant neighborhood in Santa Barbara. It is mainly known for its art galleries, breweries, and wineries and is located in the area around the intersection of Anacapa and Yanonali Streets, near the waterfront. Some of our favorite spots to eat or drink here are: Topa Topa Brewery, Lucky Penny, The Lark, Santa Barbara Wine Collective, Figueroa Mountain Brewing Company, Llama Dog, Brass Bear Brewing, Pali Wine Co, and Loquita (we haven't been here, but have heard great things).

The Urban Wine Trail

The Urban Wine Trail is a self-guided tour of wineries located in the downtown area of Santa Barbara, California. The trail includes a number of wineries located in the Funk Zone neighborhood, as well as others located elsewhere in the Santa Barbara vicinity. Many of the wineries on the Urban Wine Trail offer tastings and tours, and some also have on-site restaurants or outdoor seating areas. The Urban Wine Trail is organized by the Santa Barbara Vintners Association, they provide maps and information about the wineries on the trail, as well as events and other resources for wine lovers.

Go for a Surf

We obviously love to get in the water, and if you do too we recommend Rincon Beach Point (right below our wedding venue) and Campus Point in Goleta (right by UCSB)! In the Summer and Fall the swell is usually tiny, so longboarding will be a safe bet at either location.

Hike Inspiration Point

Santa Barbara, CA 93105

If you are up for a quick hike, Inspiration Point is a must... if we like it, it means its pretty mellow! It's about a 3.5 mile round-trip hike that gives you a view of the Santa Barbara Harbor at the top. Helpful Tip: To ensure you find the correct trailhead, we recommend using Google Maps or AllTrails. The Inspiration Point Trailhead is located in a residential neighborhood just off Tunnel Road. You’ll know that you’re close when you begin to see cars lining the right side of the road—like we said, it’s a popular hike!

If you like golf, this is truly an amazing course right on the water's edge! It's located in Goleta, just a quick 15 min drive North of Santa Barbara.
