How I Met My Wife

From His Perspective....

It all started during our family’s Thanksgiving service for my dad, who had just survived a stroke. It was a special day, filled with gratitude and celebration. While my sister Anne was busy helping with the food and organizing everything, I noticed someone I had never seen before. I turned to Anne and asked, “Who is that?!” Anne told me she had just come from Nigeria — and then she gave me that look and said, “Do you like her?” Of course, I quickly said, “No, I was just asking!” But Anne already knew something was up. As time went on, I kept seeing her around church. Eventually, I spoke to her, and we exchanged numbers. We started texting, then talking on the phone more often, and before long, I really got to know her. I even called her grandma about her — that’s how serious I was feeling and cared for her, though I tried to play it cool. Fast forward to 2024 — everything changed. I had been praying, asking God to show me clearly who my wife was. And during the summer, it became crystal clear. We grew so close that I couldn’t ignore my feelings anymore. One night, while we were talking, the conversation naturally led there, and I just couldn’t hold it in any longer. I told her how I felt — and to my joy, she felt the same way. From that moment, everything clicked. We both knew it was divine. God orchestrated our story from the very beginning, and His glory will be revealed through us. Now, whatever else she says about how it happened... it’s cap! 😄

How I Met My Husband

Now let me tell you how it really started lol…….

We first met years ago at church, shortly after I arrived in America. I didn’t know anyone, but he walked right up to me, introducing himself, chit-chatting for a while, and later asked for my number—simple, friendly, and unforgettable. We barely spoke after that, just the occasional “hi and hello” when I’m away at school and when I’m back home (he invited me to church events/hangouts), until years later when I was visiting my sister. She fell ill, and this “friend” called me to check up on me as usual and found out that my sister was not feeling too well; he surprised us by getting her snacks, food, and medicine. I remember wondering why someone who claimed to be just a friend would do all that. Fast-forward to October 2024, checking in on each other again (not just him; I checked on him too, lol; he's going to say I didn't), I later came home for a short break. We then took the check-ins really seriously when casual check-ins turned into hours of calls, voice notes, messages, and nonstop conversations. Somewhere in the middle of all that talking, we realized we were in love. I made sure he put a title on it before we started dating (yes, I insisted!), and once he did, we met up, and the rest became our beautiful beginning.
