Daniel and I met our Freshman year of college at UNG. Daniel caught a glimpse of me during our frog week and always said it was love at first sight. We officially met each other on the first day of school which happened to be the same day as the 2017 eclipse. We were sitting right beside each other on the drill field as the sky went dark. From their our friendship took off and before you know it, we were inseparable. From adventures, to hikes, to random road trips, we were always together. Finally, six months after we met, he asked me to be his girlfriend. Fast forward two and a half years, he asked me to be his wife and we couldn't be happier.
If you know anything about us, you know our favorite thing in the world is picnics. Naturally, I decided the perfect picnic would be the best place to pop the question. After visiting two other wineries that day we finally made it to Kaya Vineyards, aka Renata's favorite place ever. We gleefully picked up our picnic basket complete with red roses and set out for the perfect spot. It was the most beautiful day and we decided a spot amidst the rolling hills of Kaya with Yonah Mountain behind us and vines right beside us, was the perfect spot. We ate our charcuterie board and had a glass of wine before deciding to take a few pictures, something we ALWAYS do. We snapped some pictures and took many "practice" videos, enough for me to build my courage anyways. After ten minutes of this, I got down on one knee and asked her to marry me. She said yes! The surprise wasn't over yet though. When we arrived back to the Kaya tent we were greeted by all of our family and friends to celebrate the good news and our best day yet.
