Our Story

We met in high school; Ryan was a grade younger, but our circle of friends always crossed paths. When we graduated, we both went our separate ways to college. I went to Seton Hall University then moved to Hoboken, NJ where I became an elementary school teacher while Ryan ventured up to Springfield University before he took his many road trips and travelled the world. Summer 2005 is where our love story began. We would meet up and head out on our friend’s boat to cruise up and down the Navesink. For the next ten years, Ryan and I continued playing this cat and mouse game; occasionally seeing each other when he would come visit Hoboken, dating here and there, and sharing shore houses, until finally in 2016 we finally decided the game was over. We “officially” started dating, and I moved back down to Monmouth County. Three years later, we moved in together and starting talking about our future. April 25, 2020, Ryan brought me back down to the dock where it all began. It was a perfect sunny day and felt great to get outside and smile in the midst of all of the Covid craziness. We sat on a bench where I have my Saturday morning coffee with my dad, and there, Ryan asked me to marry him. Our family and closest friends were hiding in the next parking lot, wearing masks and social distancing of course, to celebrate our special day. Our engagement gave people an hour to forget about the stress of what was happening in the world around us, an hour to enjoy the little things in life... family, friends, and love!
