Santa Ana Volcano Hike

Hiking clothing, hat, light jacket, sunscreen

The bus will leave from the hotel Barceló at 7am on Friday. Make sure to RSVP if you're planning to come so we have enough seats. (Breakfast begins at 5:30am at the hotel so eat breakfast before we leave). Hiking the volcano can be a bit strenuous, but it’s not too difficult. About half the trail is in a semi-covered jungle on fairly groomed trails. The second half is in full sun, so bring a hat / sunscreen. The top can be a little chilly, so bring a light jacket. We are leaving the hotel at 7am on a bus or shuttle. It is a 90 minute drive to the volcano and the hike is about 5 hours to the top and back. We plan to have lunch and view lake Coatepeque before heading back to the hotel.
