Tommy and I met at a Women in Law mixer. I was with my friend Kathleen as I walked in I saw this tall man in a suit, carrying this HUGE Con Law book. I was dumbstruck. A man...this handsome...at this school...no freaking way. I looked at my friend Kathleen and said very casually, "that's hubby right there." I walked to and from the open bar hoping he'd notice me, and of course I know now, Tommy isn't very observant (or I'm not that interesting). So I asked her "what do I do?" To which we schemed to message him on Facebook. "You're not seriously, are you?" to which I replied (typing to him) "Don't believe me just watch suckah!" Within minutes he responded, and a few weeks later we were out on our first date! We were on and off for a couple months, enough to know we never wanted to be without each other, and finally agreed that we simply wanted to be together. After a year of transitions, changes, sickness, happiness, sadness, holidays, parties, a graduation, job offers, and career changes he finally asked me to be his wife. Something I will always remember about my proposal day was when Tommy was down on one knee and told me "I cannot imagine going through this life without you. You are my best friend in this world and I need you by my side." I have loved Tommy since the minute I set eyes on him...it's like when I saw him my soul kind of went "oh look, it's you." Thank you to everyone who has supported our love, and thank you to my future husband for always having my back and loving me through all my craziness! Tommy and I cannot wait to celebrate with all of you. Warmly, Sofia Arellano (Goodwin)
