It was special. It was romantic. It was 7th grade district band rehearsal. Brian on baritone saxophone. Sofia on the drums. Romance? Not so much. Two years later, Brian finally mustered up the courage to ask (but really agree) to be Sofia’s boyfriend. The rest is history: four years of high school, five years of long distance during college and grad school, one pandemic, eight months of house hunting, and one proposal not long after. Twelve years later, we’re so ready to celebrate with the people who have loved us through it all.

On the tenth anniversary of when they began dating, Brian planned a whirlwind day in NYC filled with Sofia’s favorite things: museums, gluten free Italian food, Hamilton on Broadway. He topped it all off with a proposal near the Bow Bridge in Central Park. It truly was the perfect day.
