Travel

We know that destination weddings mean extra travel for our guests, and we are truly grateful for the effort you're making to celebrate with us! Below are a few options for getting to the Liguria region of Italy.

Flight

Genoa Airport

Genoa is the closest and most convenient airport to our wedding location. Most flights from the United States will require a connection, but if you're planning to travel within Europe before the wedding, this can be a great option since Genoa offers direct flights from many European cities. From Genoa, it's about a 40-minute train ride or a 30-minute drive to the wedding destination. If you're taking the train, first hop on the airport bus or train for one stop to Genova Sestri P. Aeroporto Station, then take a train to Varazze or Celle (depending on where you're staying). Tickets can be purchased up to six months in advance through the Trenitalia app and cost approximately $6.

Flight

Milan International Airport (MXP)

Milan offers the most direct (and probably cheapest!) flight options from the United States. If you choose to fly into Milan and have some extra time, we recommend spending 1-2 days exploring the city. Milano Centrale, the main train station, is easily accessible from the airport. From Milano Centrale, you can take a direct train to Varazze (the town next to Celle Ligure). This route operates 3-4 times daily and takes approximately 2.5 - 3 hours, depending on stops. Tickets can be purchased up to six months in advance through Trenitalia from about $20-$25. When booking, select Milano Central to Varazze and be sure to choose the "direct train solutions" option. You can also take the train from Milano Centrale to Celle, but will need to transfer at some point during the route. Alternatively, you may arrange a car service for the approximately 2-hour drive.

Flight

Nice Airport

Nice is about a 1.5-2-hour drive from the wedding location. Please note that there are no direct train routes from Nice to the destination. Additionally, you'll be crossing an international border when traveling from France into Italy, so keep this in mind when planning your trip.

Train

Trenitalia

Trains in Italy are clean, safe, and easy to navigate, making them one of the best ways to travel. If you're exploring different parts of Italy before or after the wedding, we highly recommend using the train whenever possible. The towns closest to the wedding location are Varazze and Celle.

Travel Note

Car Rental/Car Service

Travel Note

Lodging Information

Guests should plan on staying in the town of Celle Ligure or Varazze. These small beach front towns are just down the hill from Ganci Farm. There are many hotels, B&Bs, villas, AirBnB, and VRBOs in the area. The wedding is during peak season, so accommodations go fast! We will have shuttles going to and from Celle Ligure and Varazze to Ganci Farm for the wedding. Once we get a better idea of where people are staying, we will set pick up locations. Celle Ligure and Varazze are not very big so no matter where you stay, catching the shuttle should be easy. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to Sofia and Ryan. The bride and groom will be staying at Ganci Farms.
