If you’re one of our many, many east coast guests, you might be thinking “wow that’s a far way to travel and kind of seems like it’s the middle of nowhere…” Well you would be correct! So we wanted to share a few suggested activities and some of our local favorites for out-of-towners - let's make a trip of it!

Napa Valley Wine Tour

2480 Oak Street, Napa, CA

Exploring vineyards on your own is great but why not let someone else take care of it for you! Napa Valley Wine Trolley and the Napa Valley Wine Train are also great alternatives.

Muir Woods National Monument

Mill Valley, CA

Reservations are required for this insanely beautiful redwood grove.

Exploratorium

The Embarcadero, San Francisco, CA

While kids aren't invited to the wedding itself, if you do end up making a trip out west with the full fam, the Exploratorium is sure to be a big hit!

Golden Gate Bridge

Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco, CA

Want a super touristy day? Start by driving across the Golden Gate Bridge. (Playing the Full House theme song is highly encouraged!) Then park at Pier 39 and swing by Trish's Mini Donuts. Try to beat Andrew's record of 36 donuts in one go while watching the sea lions on the pier before hopping on a boat to Alcatraz. End the day with a trolley ride!

Rock City Park

Mount Diablo, Danville, CA

Want an outdoorsy day in the East Bay? Drive up to Rock City and hike around the massive boulders. Sam went to high school at the base of Mount Diablo, and her name is carved into a rock somewhere up there!

Claremont Club & Spa - A Fairmont Hotel

41 Tunnel Road, Berkeley, CA

Treat yoself 2022!

Round Up Saloon

3553 Mount Diablo Boulevard, Lafayette, CA

A Lafayette classic for all the late night dive bar feels.

Buttercup Diner

660 Ygnacio Valley Road, Walnut Creek, CA

Gotta have a greasy hangover breakfast! Eggs and bacon not your thing? In n Out is a classic obviously, and Dave at Casa Gourmet Burrito makes a mean spicy quesadilla. Or swing by Coffee Shop in Lafayette for pastries and yogurt if that's more your style!

Va de Vi Bistro

1511 Mount Diablo Boulevard, Walnut Creek, CA

Upscale restaurant in downtown Walnut Creek with great wine and small plates.

Ramen Yamadaya

1728 Buchanan Street, San Francisco, CA

Great ramen and gyoza in the heart of Japantown!

Blue Bottle Coffee

2118 University Avenue, Berkeley, CA

Order a New Orleans (Sam's go-to) and wander through Cal Berkeley over to Telegraph Ave.

San Francisco Creamery

1370 Locust Street, Walnut Creek, CA

Grab a scoop and walk around Main Street in downtown Walnut Creek. This are is poppin' with tons of restaurants and bars!

For all the days along the way
