We are hosting a dressy formal wedding. Ladies are welcome to wear cocktail, midi, or floor-length gowns, or elegant separates. Gentlemen are recommended to wear a suit.
We're delighted to share that this will be an Orthodox Jewish wedding. David was born into the Jewish faith, and Maryanne completed her Orthodox conversion through the Rabbinical Council of America. We warmly welcome guests of all faiths to join us in celebrating this joyful occasion!
Everything served will be strictly kosher, meaning it meets Jewish dietary standards certified by a rabbi. The meal will be either fully meat or fully dairy, never both together at the same event. You will have a complete and delicious meal. If you have any dietary restrictions beyond that please reach out to the couple in advance.
Nobody is required to do anything they are not comfortable with. That said, wearing one is considered a sign of respect and is warmly appreciated by the family. Kippot will be available at the entrance for any gentleman would like one. A kippah is simply a small head covering worn as a sign of reverence before G-d. Putting one on carries no religious meaning or commitment on your part whatsoever.
The ceremony is conducted primarily in Hebrew and Aramaic, which are the sacred languages of Jewish tradition. You will receive a printed program in English that walks you through every moment of the ceremony so you always know what is happening and why. You are not expected to follow along in Hebrew or recite anything. Simply being present and taking it all in is more than enough.
