In 2019 Michael worked with the American Kennel Club in a deal to acquire their content for ESPN networks. Through this deal Michael made friends with a fellow corgi lover and AKC employee and they planned the proposal for the 2020 Meet the Breeds event in NYC. Maddie was in heaven meeting and petting over 150 breeds of dogs. In the afternoon, the NYPD gave a demo on how the police force use German Shepard's to sniff out bombs. The officer asked for volunteers and Michael was chosen to wear a backpack with the "bomb scent". After the dog sniffed out Michael, I was asked to join him in the demo ring. That's when Michael pulled the engagement ring out of the backpack and got down on one knee and asked her to marry him!
