Cheers to the to-be Snyders!

We'll have to thank Kurt twice during this story! First off, thanks, Kurt, for turning 30, and thanks, Addison, for scheduling a birthday bus for the day. We met on June 4, 2022, while merrily riding a party bus up to Alton, IL, and back. For one of us, it was the dance moves and infectious laugh; for the other, it was the frequent sarcastic comments and willingness to take a joke too far. Nick asked for Olivia's number, and she happily gave it—only to realize, surprise! It was already in her phone. (This is where the second thank-you comes into play.) Thank you again, Kurt, for inviting us both to McGurk's as part of a larger group. The interaction didn't last much longer than a hello and a number exchange before Olivia had to leave for a trivia night with other friends, but it sure makes for a funny second meet-cute! To make matters more interesting, Nick had accepted a position in Seattle, WA, just weeks before we re-met. We decided to get to know each other a little before he left, and when there was no denying the sparks—and the checked boxes—we decided to give long distance a go. After almost exactly two long years of jet-setting weekends, phone calls, and even some snail mail, Olivia was able to move to Seattle to join Nick. This move solidified what we were already both thinking: Gotta lock this one down. And so, not too long after Olivia's move, we flew to sunny southern Florida for a well-deserved long weekend. To Olivia, this was a fun birthday celebration for her 32nd and, more importantly, Nick's 30th birthday. But Nick always has his own ideas, and so the weekend was hijacked—in the best way—to celebrate our engagement instead!
