Detroit Institute of Arts
Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo lived in Detroit while Rivera worked on his famous Detroit Industry Murals. Visit the DIA to see the murals as well as a world-class collection of art.
Belle Isle
A beautiful public park and in Sam's opinion, the gem of Detroit. We had our first date here and Sam later proposed to Nora at a picnic here! Designed by Frederick Law Olmstead, the architect of Central Park. Explore the park by foot or bike, pack a picnic to enjoy, or check out the Anna Scripps Whitcomb Conservatory and the aquarium.
Detroit Zoo
A favorite of ours. The polar bears are really cool.
Ann Arbor Art Fair
Check out the largest juried art fair in the US! Same weekend as our wedding, from Thursday to Saturday. One of Nora and Sam's favorite art happenings in Michigan - you'll be sure to find some cute stuff and good eats. But don't love it so much you miss our wedding!!
Huron River
Kayaking or tubing down the Huron River in Ann Arbor is always a great summer activity! Take note: there are bees on the river during the summer, so bring your epi-pen if you're allergic.

Nichols Arboretum
