From Crossroads to the Wedding Altar

Our first meeting was very brief. During our first semester at Holy Cross, we both joined mutual friends at the campus cafe Crossroads. Jacob did not stick around after introductions--he and his roommate Benny quickly departed to play some FIFA in their dorm room. Shortly thereafter, we started studying in the same groups together. Jacob immediately liked Lily's quirky personality, highlighted by her "I'm an herbivore" dinosaur sticker on her computer. Lily liked Jacob's chill attitude, and she told her mom and sister that he was the funniest of her new college friends. After Lily joined the campus radio club, Jacob started calling in to ask for interviews as a thinly veiled excuse to hang out. Lily realized how much Jacob was starting to like her when he offered to help move stuff out of her dorm room before winter break. Low and behold, Jacob called Lily a week or so later to confess that he had feelings for her. Lily is famously not a fan of change or confrontation, so despite liking him back, her initial response was, "I am so stressed out right now." We have been together ever since. During the rest of our time at Holy Cross, we supported each other through life challenge after life challenge: Jacob went through a couple of knee surgeries, Lily studied abroad at Trinity in Dublin for a year, and we quarantined together for a year of pandemic schooling in Rhode Island and Colorado (shoutout to Maisie, Nessie, and Baloo). Over 8 years later, we have spent time living in London, Tahoe, and Boston, all of which have shaped the things we love to do as a couple. We are so excited to have you join us on September 26th for our special day at the Athenaeum library. Bring your dancing shoes and your reading glasses!
