Samantha and Max met through Samantha's brother Brad. Max was Brad's roommate and met Samantha over a video chat for the first time. Samantha and Max's first date was at the Lovington State Fair, an expensive date that was. It cost Max $1 total. The rest of the story is history. Samantha and Max fell deeply in love and Max finally took it to the next level and asked Samantha to be his wife.

Samantha was told that she was going to be planning a surprise birthday/going away party for her brother Travis. Samantha planned the entire party and put it together. She then took Travis out for "a bite to eat" to stall for more time. When they arrived at the church, where the party was, they walked in and there was Max on one knee waiting to ask. Of course, Samantha said yes without a doubt.
