Smriti and Krishnan's story began in May 2022. (We don't remember the date, don't judge us.) Fresh out of college and on her first work trip in her favorite city (New York), Smriti swiped right on Krishnan - everyone say thank you, Hinge! Thank God Smriti was in NYC, and Krish was bored while he drove to his graduation in Illinois, or we would have never matched! Perfect timing ♡ Through constant texts, never-ending FaceTimes, years of long-distance and realizing we have the same last name already, we got to know each other on a deeper level, and our connection grew stronger, as we filled the distance with laughter and love. We always planned our next visit while we were together, because we couldn't handle being apart for another month. While Smriti loves her reality TV shows and romance novels, Krish is a fan of dark crime TV shows and sports. We didn't let the differences stop us from sharing our interests with each other though, and while Smriti will never understand the passion behind football (Go Birds?), you can probably find her sitting right next to him while he watches the game and she reads (him taking breaks to ask what her book is about) - happy and content just to be spending time together. Our ideal Saturday morning starts with us at the local coffee shop, picking up our fav iced shortbread lattes (OK, Smriti's fav) on our way to the farmer's market to pick up fresh flowers, and the promise of brunch (sometimes boozy!) after. And on July 5, 2025, Krish proposed to Smriti in front of a beautiful lake, and while Smriti had guessed all weekend that this was going to happen, she was so overjoyed and obsessed with her ring and her FIANCÉ that she didn't even care! The surprises continued, and Krish led Smriti to a rooftop where both of our families and closest friends were gathered to celebrate us and our love. We are so excited to begin our lives together and can't wait to celebrate the beginning of our forever with all of you!
