Why no perfumes or scents?

Answer

Many people with autism and ADHD experience sensory sensitivities. For Katharine, that's especially prominent with scents (perfumes, colognes, candles, and air fresheners). We're excited to see you, but if you're wearing a strong scent to any wedding-related event, you may be asked to leave for the bride's well-being.

What's this about socks with birds on them?

Answer

In college, Thomas started "Bird Sock Friday," which is ... exactly what it sounds like. You wear socks with birds on them on Fridays. Since March 2018, he's posted a story to his Instagram feed of his bird socks du jour, and Katharine has joined him whenever able. Since our wedding is on a Friday, why not take advantage of that and make it the biggest Bird Sock Friday of all time?
