John and Shannon first encountered each other sophomore year of college. John happened to be the lucky guy who signed-up for a geography class with only women! The whole semester went by and Shannon found it hard to not to notice John, but John decided that keeping his head down and minding his own business would be the best way he would get through the class. Finals week came and each of the students presented a project about a randomly chosen country; they all brought in food from that country to depict an aspect of that culture. Fast forward to the start of junior year; Shannon is invited over to her friend’s on-campus townhome to meet- up with him and his new roommates. When Shannon steps inside, she spots John sitting in an armchair. She immediately declared that she remembered him from the year before - not noticing any light bulbs, she continued to jog his memory about the Vietnamese spring rolls that she made for class. That is when a flicker of acknowledgement crossed his face. To this day Shannon still likes to tease John about how she met him before he met her. Maybe love at first sight for Shannon and love at first bite for John!
