How We Met

"Life Is Simple, Just Be Yourself."

Just As Any Ordinary Work Week Started, Shayla and Grant Began Their Routine Shifts at GCWSD. After Being Coworkers in Separate Departments for Roughly a Year and a Half, Neither Thought They'd Cross Paths, Not Only Once But, Twice in That Same Day! It All Began with Well Rehabilitations and Routine Well Checks That Lead to the Very Beginning of an Unexpected Relationship. Anyone Who Knows Grant Knows He Can Be Quite the Introvert. Naturally, Shayla Took the First Step and Asked Grant Out on the Date That Became the Start of Something Truly Special. Their First Date on a Friday Night at the Warehouse (A Local Bar in Conway, SC) Ended Up Becoming THE Night. You Know, the Kind of Night Everyone Talks About! The Night Where Conversation Never Ends and You Share and Share Until You Know Everything There is to Know About One Another. With Such a Romantic Setting - Surrounded by the White Lights Spiraling Around the Historic Oak Trees, Along the Quaint Riverwalk - Who Could Blame Them for Falling for Each Other? That Very Special Night Led to Where They Are Now. Going on a Strong Two Year Relationship, Happily Engaged, and Building Memories. As New Home Owners, Shayla, Grant, Aliyah and the Newest Addition to the Family, Their Puppy Hazel, are Growing and Incandescently in Love More and More Everyday. In September, They'll Get Married Surrounded by the Love and Support from All Their Family and Friends. And They Couldn't Be More Grateful.

The Proposal

"You Built Me Something?"

Grant, Simple Yet Sweet. Some of the Most Amazing Qualities About This Man is His Sense of Humor, Thoughtfulness, How Genuine He Is, and What I Like To Describe Him As - An Old Soul. The Proposal Involves Each of These Incredible Qualities. A Typical Saturday Evening Around the House. Grant Walks Up to Me. He Hands Me a Small, Flat, Rectangular Box and Says " I Built You Something." Now, I Look at This Box Perplexed and Wondering If It's Some Kind of Electronic. Then I Opened It and Out Spins a Diamond Ring! I Was Awestruck! Not Only Was It the Most Beautiful Ring I've Ever Seen, but the Ring Has Been Passed Down Through Generations of His Family! To Me, This is Priceless! Nothing Could Have Said I Want To Marry You More Than to Feel Like I Truly Am Part of the Family.
