Travel Note

Thursday Night

If you arrive on Thursday, you may wish to stay at the Sleep Inn in North Liberty which is very close to our apartment. We recommend that family and close friends stay here. For exploring downtown/campus, you may wish to stay at the reception hotel both nights. There are also many hotels located off of I-80 at exits 242 or 240. We have not blocked any rooms for Thursday night.

Hilton Garden Inn Iowa City Downtown University

A block of hotel rooms is being held at the Hilton Garden Inn under Smith-Windelborn Wedding Reception. Please call to make the reservation. The hotel entrance is on S. Clinton St. and the hotel parking garage is located on S. Dubuque St. Enter the garage as usual and ask for a parking code voucher at the front desk at check-in. Cost is $14/day. If you are staying at the hotel, DO NOT park on the street. Cars are towed from 2-6am.
