From here, you can take the Metra Union Pacific Northwest (UP-NW) Outbound - Ogilvie (OTC) to Harvard. Take the Line 16 stops to Barrington station at (201 S. Spring Street Barrington, IL 60010) Approx. 45 mins - 1 hour. To return to the city, the last train leaves out of Barrington at 10 PM, so plan to leave early or spend the money on an Uber/Lyft or taxi back. (35-45 min drive to downtown Chicago)
